All the Reasons Happy Skin Lipsticks Should Be a Makeup Kit Staple

Lipsticks

The past couple of years, we have all gone crazy over Kylie Lip Kits and Colourpop lippies for their awesome shades and amazing color payoff.

What many of us don’t know is that we’re up to scratch in the lipstick department: thanks to Happy Skin, a local brand that produces moisturizing matte lippies in dreamy packaging. We list all the reasons you should (or should not) grab a Happy Skin tube of your own.

What I love about it:

Pigmented – Happy Skin Liquid Matte lipsticks deliver lots of pigment with an ultra-matte finish. Unlike other liquid lippies that require more than a single swipe before you can appreciate the color payoff, Happy Skin provides intense color upon first application.

Ultra Matte – While the formula is slightly creamy, it turns matte after you put it on. It will take a few seconds, but it dries with an ultra-matte finish.

Not too Dry on the Lips – To set the record straight, Happy Skin lippies still feel a bit dry on the lips, as expected with any other matte lipstick. Happy Skin lippies, however, wouldn’t make your lips look and feel parched.

Pretty Shades – I find all of their shades flattering and wearable. Their usual fare includes muted pinks, mauve-y pinks, bright reds, and pink browns, which makes it easier to find the shade that complements your skin tone.

Long Staying Power – This lipstick stays on for four hours or more without the need for a retouch. If you’re someone like me who eats a lot, Happy Skin lipsticks are for you. Note, though, that the staying power isn’t the same for everyone.

Dainty Packaging – Now, here’s my favorite part. Remember the pretend makeup you loved as a kid? Happy Skin lets you relive your early makeup roleplay days, as their products have princesses illustrated both on the boxes and the tubes. Lippies that are not part of their princess collection, meanwhile, are contained in vintage-inspired tubes and accented with golds and silvers.

What I think they could improve:

Applicator – Honestly, the only thing I think they could have done better was to make the tip of their applicators more pointy, as the current ones make it difficult to reach the edges.
